From July 16 to 19, 2024, the Our Lady of La Salette Multi-Purpose Cooperative (OLLSMPC), in collaboration with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) R2 and the City Government of Santiago, conducted a four-day Livelihood Training on Pineapple Processing at the Santiago City Food Processing and Toll Packaging Center. The program aimed to equip cooperative members and beneficiaries with practical skills in producing value-added pineapple products, including pineapple candy, jam, vinegar, and dried pineapple, thereby promoting economic self-sufficiency and sustainable agricultural practices. Guided by TESDA ISAT Assistant Professor IV Ms. Leona S. Cayapan and facilitated by OLLSMPC staff, participants received hands-on instruction and applied their skills to create high-quality products suitable for local and commercial markets. The training concluded with a recognition program awarding certificates of appreciation to participants and partner agencies. Attended by OLLSMPC Chairman Atty. Cesario Aggalot, board members, staff, DTI representatives, and local government officials, the event highlighted the cooperative’s commitment to enhancing member livelihoods and fostering local economic development through collaboration and practical skill-building initiatives.
